The Dance of the Waterglass
Well the image came a little small but it conveys the point, at least. Sridevi managed to rock the socks out of one of the most amazing judwaa films in Bollywood. Of course, the stunning music helped- I will give you a hundred points if you can watch the clip without imagining the amazing thumping of the percussion as she maaroes her jhatkas.
This is the first time I’m making a youtube clip into a gif – the result is So much smoother. I must admit, this was just a test, I randomly inserted a video and put arbitrary time values in, but it came out so good, I couldn’t help but share.
And can I add, how fucking handsome does he look, eh?

This has been the toughest thing to make. Madhuri moves so goddamn fast, it’s so tough to get a clear shot of her. This song remains one of my all time favourites, I insist that SOMEONE has to dance to it at my wedding.
This post is dedicated to Radhika Agrawal, whose dance to this song remains the one memory from law school that I associate with her 🙂

It would be impossible – and possibly futile – to try and convey how much I love Amar Akbar Anthony. It’s cheesy, camp, OTT, and yet has so much heart. And so much hotness! And whilst there are many, MANY things to love about this song, my favourite is the beautiful cadence of the line, “Yaaron hason bana rakhi hai kyun ye soorat roni”. Matlab ke pure genius.
Woman, don't be so clingy!
I love how clingy Reena Roy is being and how blase Vinod Khanna is. What a hunk. Ironically, the movie is called Jail Yatra. It was not as good as the costumes will lead you to believe, I can assure you.

Hmm, this one came out slightly smaller, but I’m pleased with the way it works: Nirupa Roy’s expression goes from grumpy to enlightened to grateful. I thought this song was one of the crowning glories of Amar Akbar Anthony: the cobra guarding the entrance to the dargah, Rishi Kapoor’s adorable choreography, the oh-so-subtle lyrics (“tu bichhdro ko milaaye, bujhe deepak jalaaye”) and excellent music, overall.
